Default Dangit!

Went out to the bridge today to catch some brim. That was my main reason for going. I have not been fishing for them yet this year and they have just really started biting aggressively. While I and some kids were pulling in brim after brim about 5-6 big momma bass started circling around like sharks, so i decided to see if I could entice one to strike at a fluke or a worm. I only got a few weak follows from the fluke, but I had a huge strike on my worm. At least I thought I did. It turned out to be a big stick tangled with old line and other crap.

I guess I over estimated the lifting strength of my Berkley Amp spinning rod because the tip snapped off about a foot down. Now I find myself with no spinning rod, and no money to replace it. Next time I'll be smarter and just drag the thing to shore.

The bass was a stick. I just thought it was a strike.

That sucks man. You might could take it back, the store may honor the warranty, even though it was your fault that it broke.

I got it from Dick's, and they are notorious for not taking things back without an extended warranty, plus I don't have the receipt. I'd rather just not deal with the hassle. I have a few casters, an ultra light spinning rig, and a light action ugly stik that I can fall back on if I get desperate.

Besides, I didn't really care much for the Amp spinner, which is odd because I love my Amp caster.

Thats a tough bite to swallow for sure. The only thing you can do is chalk it up to experience and get another rod. Sorry to hear about that John.

Yeah, it's pretty tough finding those suspended ones, but I somehow manage to catch them too every now and then.
