on his baitcast reel probably. if you press it,the palm side cover pops off or slides off. on the quantum line of reels,its usaually on the bottom left,on bass pro shop reels,it is the bass pro shops gold button the sideplate. the shimano and pflueger its the circle in the middle of the sideplate that twists and off comes the sideplate and you have brake and spool access. hope i helped!

they also have em on spinning. on spinning all u gotta do is press it instead of flippin the bail over.
