Default Questions...

Let's say I have a few bucks to spend and I want to get some new lures.

What should I get? I want a few good salmon lures. I was watching a guy catching many Salmon on Lake Michigan with a colorful crainkbait.
Also Bass lures. I don't have any senkos and I've heard a lot about them

Things i think I need
_________________
1.Crankbait
2.Spinnerbait
3.Senko
4.Grub to put on jig.

Is this too broad of a question?
Could you suggest some brands and specific lure and colors?

Thanks a lot

there is no such thing a "too broad of a question". i would get a couple crankbaits. get the cheapest kind you can find, they all do the same
a bag of worm, hooks, and bullet weights. and some of those 1 dollar spinnerbaits at walmart. this should be around 10 bucks.

try a Medium Depth Crank, 2-5 ft, if your from shore. You want it to hit bottom to cause a stir up. I like Rapala jointed Shad Raps. A good color would definitley be a Baby Bass, It is one of my confidence Baits. Fish it on 8lb or 10lb test, spinning rod or light caster.

Spinnerbait, i like 1/4 oz willow/colorado combo in Chartreuse White, it is a color that will work in pretty much any water clarity. try to buump cover or work weedines if possible

Senkos, I like 4 inch solid black. Rig it Texas or Wacky Style. Texas rig on 2/0 Extra Wide Gap Worm hook, wacky rig on gamakatzu size 6 circle hook. cast it out, let it sit, lift, and let it sit, repeat back to you.

Grubs, I dont have much luck wiht, but I use a 1/8 oz Jighead and 4 inch Zoom Grubs used on 6lb line kills smallies. I constantly retrieve off the bottom just enough to where it bounces off rocks logs etc etc. Also good for when bass are on beds. Cast it on the bed, and just bounce it, the constant hopping will agitiate them into biting. I like white and chartreuse grubs.

instead of paying $5 for 10 yamamoto senkos, get the $2.96 wave worm tiki sticks. they are just about the same except that the tiki sticks will be good for abou 3-5 fish, and sometimes the senko is good for only 1-2 fish.so save your self some money and get some mustad ultra point hooks. i use a tackle bag that holds 4 3600 plano boxes.

I second the tiki sticks and I recommend the red shad laminated color!!!

And I usually have the most luck on fishing them weightless.

Once you accumulate alot of stuff, your gonna want a big tackle back. I use soft plastic binders, (Im close to filling up #2) You want to start out with a little bit of everything, until you find yuor confidnece baits, and then the ait monkey will really get ya! You already have the basics down, but go with the best worm hooks you can buy, and get a 3/0 for 5 inch senkos, and a 2/0 if your going with 4 inchers.
