Default More Questions

I have got a ton of buzz baits, many are the standard spinnerbait looking type, and a few are the type were the buzzer is ahaed of a frog or some such. I tend to stir up alot of fish, i think they are bass, but maybe not. The fish always seem to miss the lure whan they bite though. Is it common for that to happen or am i doing something wrong? Also have the same problem with weedless spoons.

try running a buzzbait that is 4-5 inches long, white or black skirt, and then put one or 2 trailer hooks on the buzzbait, you can buy these trailer hooks at walmarts, they come with a small piece of tubing that holds the trailer hook on the buzzbait.
If the bass are missing your buzzbait, this should help. Plus, try knocking that buzzbaits into any stickup in the water you can, like a stick, tree limb, rock, etc.

When throwing a buzz, your hook up rate is not going to be any where near 100%, I find it’s probably closer to 70%. I agree with JB on using trailer hooks and bumping and banging as much cover as possible. I use surgical tubing to hold the cheater hooks on. Just be patient if you're not hooking up with the buzz. If you miss him more than twice, pick up another rod with a worm or fluke and throw it. You'll get him. Good luck
