Default Went toad hunting today (pic heavy)!

Dad and I wanted to get out and find a couple of smallies while mom cooked dinner... Here is what we came up with. I missed one (4+ while one the phone) and dad missed two, one was a toad and the other we never saw. Fish were caught in 13' of water on a sand grass flat and 48* water temp.

Andy

Man there is absolutley nothing in this world that is as pretty as a Smallmouth. Those are some beautiful and healthy fish Andy. You smallie guys are making me want to go to Table Rock and drag a jig around a little. However I have a tourney on Grand next weekend so it will probably be a few weeks before I can head down there.

Great pics man!

On length alone and using the "golden ruler" one was at 5 lbs and the other was at 5-8. I think they might have been a little bigger, but I like having 10 1/2 lbs in two fish.

No, we were dragging tubes. It was a weird way of fishing, but you would see them and have to cast a long way in front of them and hope they keep on swimming that direction. If you made too short of a cast you would just spook them away. It actually helped when the wind picked up as to put a ripple on the surface.
