You northern boys are going to hate this
I'm not rubbing it in-you definitely have my sympathy.
Today there was not a cloud in the sky and the temperature was 72. Sorry, guys-I know you would love to be here instead of the frozen north.

Yesterday, there were tons of clouds in the sky, it snowed all day and barely got over 25.... BB

i saw sun yesterday... but had to get in an airplane to do it. What makes ya sick is that the cloud layer covering all of IN, KY, OH is only about 1000ft thick. In eastern KY you could see the sun trying to burn it off, but it never quite made it.
Just for the record, the coolest thing in the world is being right on top of a silky smooth flat l;ayer of clouds in a King Air. It would be like doing 275mph on the water... you dont feel like you are going that fast when you are way up at altitude, so when you get the chance to do it close to something that wont hurt you, it reminds you how fast you really are going. |

We a saw 55 degree increase in the temp here yesterday compared to a week ago. That's right, we actually hit +30 for the high yesterday! It was -25 (straight temp) for the low at the end of last week.

Haha! Nice to see most replies coming from the North!
It has been completely gray, for as far as the eye can see, for.....well...days..... Downright depressing even if I wasn't dying to go fishing!!!!!!

Its not really that bad for some of us. I just got back from ice fishing, alone BB stayed home (doesn't like ice fishing that much.) It was a nice day, temps in the thirties, 12 -14 inches of ice, ( with that much ice we could be ice fishing till mid March) and the perch were bitting. Could hardly fish with two rods. The fish were a little small but it was still great to get out. Might try again in the morning.

The sun is out and shining brightly here...but temps are only in the high teens. They're forecasting a major storm for us for Tuesday/Wednesday that some are saying could rival the blizzard of 78 which was the worst snow storm I've ever seen....too early to tell for sure but I sure hope they're wrong!

It's 10 degrees here and we're in a winter storm warning for tonight and tomorrow morning, with another 6-10 inches of snow predicted. Ugh.

Only 72? I get upset when we don't make it to 75.
BTW, in my tourney yesterday, two guys were catching fish off of beds. Yes, it is great to have this weather.

I actually don't mind it here. Both my wife and I have fantastic jobs here with a great company and almost all of both of our families are within a 3 hour drive in various directions. Sure, it's a drag to not be able to fish (other than ice fish, which I'm not a fan of) for 6 months, but that just makes me enjoy the other 6 months of fishing that much more. Even though someday when we're retired we might spend a month or two somewhere warmer during the winter, I wouldn't trade living here for anything.

What goes around comes around, Dallas is blanketed by a sheet of ice today. The temp isn't supposed to get above freezing until Friday. So much for a nice warm SuperBowl week.

Not just texas, front moving thru,mo,ill, ind, ohio etc,and obviously farther north.
I live near Paris Landing in Tn,for some reason the jet stream often goes just above us like in summer its dry and one can view the rain in the distance, same with most winter storms, most going just north of us.Gilbertsville,Ky is 40 F,we are 51Fjust a hop skip and a 1 hr drive away.Currently raining in buckets and just slightly north will be several feet of snow. Most of the more northerly states have some great outdoors to enjoy if even for a slightly lesser amount of time.Often with species we do not encounter at a more southerly lat.So trade offs living anywhere. This is Global warming at its finest. |
