Default Storm Wild Eye Swimbaits

I know the new lure craze that the Bait Monkey has going now is swimbaits. I tried the Storm wild eye swim baits in 3" in Bunker color the other day and they worked great. You just have to make sure you get a good hook set or you will lose them when they jump.

They worked so well, this prompted me to buy more, so I got some more 3" in different colors and also got the Wild Eye Suspending shad in 3" and 4".

I have basically been casting them and using a slow retrieve and pausing them some too. For the suspending ones, I have been doing the same thing but twitching them some when I pause them to hopefully, mimic a wounded or dying baitfish. I think the action on these are great, just wondering if other people had some updated opinions on them or how to fish them. I say updated because I read a few posts on them from doing a search.

I throw them a lot. Most of my lakes out here stock trout in the late fall winter. I throw the 5 inch curly tail rainbows. This has worked very well for me.

My brother in law used them some this spring while I was fishing a senko. He even caught a couple of nice crappie on them. I was having too much fun with the Senko. The Bait Monkey made me buy some at Gander Mountain.

They are so realistic looking they caught me. I bought some and did not do beans on them. My next door neighbor (we live on the river) took some and went to the lake and did pretty good on Speckled Trout. I have fished them off and on and started to catch a few fish on them. They look like they would be great...but as far as I'm concerned the jury is still out.

I have found that a steady retrieve seems to work best.
