Yeah I heard that. 9 years is such a long time to sign a guy too, anything can happen, especially with a man of umm...his stature. I know we were said to be in the mix for Prince but I'm kind of glad we didn't get him. Had we gotten him, resigning Josh Hamilton would be just about out of the question. It's kind of cool that Prince is going to play for the team his dad played for too. We've got 2 more big bats in the A.L now.

I agree, 9 years is an awfully long contract and 214 million is just plain crazy. That being said, however, Prince will only turn 28 years old this May. And even being a man of such "stature," he has been extremely durable to this point, playing in 157, 158, 159, 162, 161 and 162 games in the 6 full years he's been in the majors. I don't think he'll have any trouble adjusting to A.L. pitching, but you never know, some N.L. to A.L. crossovers do struggle in that regard.
