<--- Raw Thumb
I was able to go fishing for two hours today and nothing was biting for the first 25 minutes. The water is really low, super clear, and hot, and I could tell they just weren't feeding. There was a line of floating algae on the shoreline, so I pitched a jig in there, and right away, BAM! I popped the jig through the jaw of a six pounder. I had 17lbs test on, and the fish started taking me through a tree. Luckily, he didn't get hung, and I jumped off the rocks to lip him. The scale put him, or should I say her, at 6.05lbs.
My thumb is raw. |

Hey thanks. It's a Booyah Boo jig - 1/2oz with a Yum Gonzo Grub on the back. I like other jigs better, but that one really works at that place. The big bass there really feed on bluegill and one of those with a green pumpkin trailer imitates them perfectly. We swim really slowly on bluff walls, burn them across weed flats, and pitch/flip them. They are dynamite there. It's funny, because my dad's biggest bass was the same size caught on the same jig! I finally tied him!
