Jonboat paint? Jonboat questions
I am in the process of pimping out my jonboat a bit and want to know if anyone has had sucess using a home-kit spray on bedliner in a light blue or white on the insides of the boat?
Also what is a good # troller to look for to propel a 12'' flat bottom. Any other things i should build into it? Thanks Alan |

Spray on bedliner material works fine as long as everything is prepped properly. I had a 55# TM on my 17' boat- would put a wake out on 5. Storage compartments are nice, baitwell/livewell are handy.

36-49lbs thrust troller is adequate and can be a blessing if the wind gets up. Yes a bedliner spray can be good. As ole firefly said PREP work is the most important. The very best paint that I have found for aluminum boats is Kem 400 available from Shermin williams. Its the same paint sveral boat manufacturers use to spray there's including Wareagle,SeaArk and Express to name a few. Best thing about it is the cost is GREAT..........paint is 35 to 40 depending on color and reducer (Xylene) is 18 if memory serves me right. Now thats for gallons.

Kem 400?
1fastlaser, did you mean Kem 4000. I did not find a Kem 400 in the Sherwin Williams website. I just want to make sure because I'm getting ready to paint my johnboat. Thanks, basshntr
