Default Boy, O Boy! Yee Haw!

Well, we have our 2 day club classic planned for Sat. and Sunday this weekend. It is supposed to be cold and blustery with highs of around 50, but the crazy part is that the wave forecast they're calling for is 9-12 foot waves building to 10-13 FEET on Saturday, and then subsiding to 7-10 footers by Sunday. HOLY CRAP! As of now, we are still on for the tournament. We have fished and ran in 4-6 foot waves before, and it was do-able, but 10-13 footers... this could get interesting!

Interesting is one way of describing it... I've done 6fters before and they crashed over the bow, soaking everything and everybody in the boat and almost took the 1197 off the ram mount. Talk about being hit with a ton of bricks. Then again this was in a 19 ft stratos. 21ft boat can take a lot more of a beating.

Maybe nobody will show up and you will win by default lol. Doesn't sound much like fun to me but tournament fishing seldom is fun, it seems like mother nature knows when it's tournament day and she will throw everything she has at you.

Good luck and be safe Ryan.

Dadgum, sounds dangerous, for the sake of you and everyone else fishing the tourney, I hope they cancel it. If they don't. Good luck, and God be with you.

I am thinking (and hoping) it is going to be cancelled. We were supposed to hear something tonight regarding the tournament, but we have not heard anything yet.

Man I love fishing but not enough to risk sinking my boat or dying over a club tournament, good luck.

I have been in 12-15' in the Gulf, but in a 90-150' boat. Noway I would do it in a 20-22' bass boat.

I think I'd pass even if they have it. Most sensible tournament directors would call it. No reason to risk life and limb for a little brown or green fish.

I really want to thank you guys for having you tourney this weekend. Was planning to go myself on Saturday but it seems as though the Clerk of the Winds saw that y'all are having a tournament and decided to screw it up for all us fun fishers too. Maybe there won't be a tourney next weekend. If you guys have this thing; BE SAFE!! Miserable, you have coming for boogerin up my trip but be safe.
