Talking The Boat is done!!

Well, I havent been around alot lately, due to a lack of time, and we've been steadily progressing with the boat. We finished her today, except about 3 minutes of wiring, which we'll do after I post this. She started out as your normal 1436 jon boat, now take a look at herthe pics aren't the best quality because shes in a dark garage)
Before:

This is the overall after pic:

Front Deck:

Front Deck with lowered seat+ fishfinder cover off:

Carpeted storage compartment door:

Carpeted Deck+sde joint:

Drivers seat:

Open Compartment door:

Rear End:

We hope to put her in at a local lake a couple times before we take her up to Anna for the spawn!

Looks great!

I see a possible problem though, the GPS antenna may get severely damaged there on the floor with people walking around, etc.

Nice. Just be careful on that front seat that high up in that kinda boat can be a rocking and rolling experience.

He'll be alright Here we are, i've swapped it out to a leaning post last season, I absolutely love that seat, and it's not as hard on the legs as I thought it would be!

notice this also maybe he did not know you can mount just the puck -no need for the bottom- on the side of that deck-say next to the compartment door-.. yep you can mount it 90 degrees. it does not have to be #1 with all that lower part.#2 it does not have to be on a open area#3 i have seen them glued down with silicone..just a 3/8" hole in the deck.. i can name a dealer that mounts them at 90 degrees on the front of the driver consule-below the windsheild-these are the same guys that silicone the puck down..and it works flawlessly..

for all that it looks good..

EXCELLANT job bud. Do yourself a flavor and move the gps antenna though. Hope you catch a boat load out of her. Patch yourself on the back and your dads as well.

Thanks for all the responses & comments. I am Vabass22's dad, and this was truly a great "winter project" for us. There's nothing like working in a garage in12-degree weather, warming the boat up for painting, etc.! All of this was totally new to both of us, and we learned a lot, both about trimming out a jon boat and about each other. I'd recommend it to anyone. Fishin'-da-boat will be great, fixin'-da-boat was a real trip!

That Jon Boat looks very nice.. Hopefully I will have my boat restored by fishing season.. I live in Falls Church so I might just see you out on water this Spring.

That boat closely resembles my first boat back in the late 70's. I put a floor and seats in it also and I caught many fish out of her. I could take that boat in any depth of water.

One word of advice, if you are on a decent size lake you should watch the weather carefully as they don't handle rough water very well.
