Exclamation Help!!!!

I need some serious help mounting our new bow-mount depth finder.

When we went to mount it tonight, we found that our TM, a MotorGuide Wireless, has a type of mount where the shaft has to run through a small hole in the mount, allowing it to deploy. Since it has to run through this hole, we cannot run the wire to the transducer connecting the transducer to the unit. We also cannot use a shoot-through because our boat is aluminum. What can we do!?!?!?

Look at the damn thing and figure it out. Americans made Hoover Dam and the Golden Gate Bridge and everything else, and I garantee you when a problem arised in the construction of those landmarks they did't call someone on the phone who couldn't even see what the problem was in person.

Eyeball it, run the wire around the mount, do something. It doesn't even sound like you really have a problem.

There IS a problem, alright! If you run the wire around the mount, you will have about 4' of loose, hangin wire, collecting weeds, trees, etc.

Anybody else?

Check My Post And Tell Me If You Have The Same Mount. If So I Can Give You Some Real Good Pictures. I Belive Mine Is A Gator Mount It Has A Bushing With Two Slots On It So Either Side Can Be Used. It Is So When You Deploy The Trolling Motor It Is Nice And Neat.

Go around it. Tighten the wire up about as much as you can. Thats about all you can do. Except buy one of those magic rocks that makes depth finders work without transducer wires hooked up.

Your OK, Berkley, I was referring to WTL.

Here is my motor, althought it is 45 lbs instead of 55. As you can see though, the shaft has to run through the 'Cradle Lock Mount', therefore inhibiting the wire from going thorugh it too.

What do I do!?!?!

Yes.

But in addition to that, its a hassle when you are just asking for me to talk to you in chat. I mite stop by chat later, but I'm hoping theres more people in there than you. Its not personal, you're just a bit annoying. Its why Zooker doesn't respond to your PMs either. Nobody is saying they don't want to help. Nobody is saying go away. But just chill a little, you are going 900 mph with fishing...we've seen it all before from young anglers.

Settle down Beavis.

I'm not wanting you to chat just to 'chat', but rather discuss the matter at hand.

BTW, thanks for helping out Berkley.

Buzz, try calling either motorguide to see what they say, or look at the units that have the transducer already mounted in them. Go directly to the source. If nobody on here as that type of TM, chances are it might be a little hard for them to give you a good answer.

Buzz, the only option I can see is to have the cable with a lot of slack in it when the TM is up. That said you won't have too much trouble if you do it that way. I've nefer had a TM cable snag on anything when it is up, and down the slack is taken up so it won't be catching on anything.

That's a good idea, Reb. I just may have to try that.

so the shaft slids up and you tip it over to lock it down..i need two things a picture of the troller deplyed -with out water-from the front end. and a picture of the power head before it is tipped over again from the front.

also answer me this question.
why in the heck did you put a wireless troller on a 14 foot opean v hull??

wireless are best used on large big water boats with full windsheilds where it is nearly imposable to use a cable steer troller..

Well, we are just going to return the Cuda. We figured it would be too much of a hass'e to deal with the wires each time we stoy/deploy.

As to why it's wireless? We got wireless because the mount is smaller in size. If we used a gator mount, it would hang-over the boat, interfering with docking/trailering purposes.
