Default Adding second fishfinder needing help

Ok guys i removed my fishfinder from my old boat. And i am trying to add it to my new boat up front. Will i have to add the transducer to the rear or is there a connection that i can splice into the transducer cable that i already have.I have a hummingbird 565 on my boat now and am trying to add a hummingbird 400tx to the front.

Just mount it to the trolling motor. Maybe Zook will pop in on this. He has a contraption he uses to keep it from breaking.

2 seperate units your trying to run there. Personally you need the front transducer put on the front of the boat. That way your looking at the bottom under the boat not to the rear of you.

i don't think you can splice,,you will want to go and get you a puck for the troll motor

I also believe that Humminbird has a free transducer trading policy so if you need to trade a transom mount for the puck style you just need to mail it in... humminbird customer service is: 1-800-633-1468

yep troller mounted transducer on the 400. i know you can buy a mount on kit for the front using your transome transducer. but the kit IS plastic and last till you hit a stump but good. i have broke 4 mounts in less than a year till i made my currant one. it has been on my troller for 5 years it has not broke -this is the 4th depth finder to use it.. cost is less than $10 for the mount..

basicly it is a 12" piece of 1/4-20 threaded rod. two hose clamps. and three 1/4" nylon lockin nuts..

i have had over 100 pounds of hydrilla wrapped around this mount and it did not break..

once you get a depth finder up front you'll wonder how you fished with out one..

Zooker, after reading your paragraph thoroughly, I think I have it figured out.

Are you threading the rod through the holes where the bolt would normally go through the transducer? Is there a certain method you have to employ as to making sure the transducer is looking directly below the boat? How exactly do you 'lock' the transducer in place?

second picture down shows the location of the locking nuts.. -it is burry- you place one on the inside one in between the arms and one on the out side of the transducer. the inside and middle nuts should be fairly tight which keeps the transducer from moving..

Thanks, Zook. But now that I look closely at my TM, I can't use this method. See my post title, "Help!!!"...
