I wanna go fast, I wanna go fast!
New to the site. Starting to get back into bass fishing after a 8 year break and looking for a rig. So whats the latest, greatest and the fastest on the water? I've previously owned a an old ranger, glasstron and champion (nothing larger than a 175hp). Love to run fast. Looking for a stock boat and engine. Nothing custom or gearheaded up. Thanks in advance.

Oh, then you need a hydroplane - a little tough to get out and fish, but you'll get there FAST!
What's this obsession with speed anyway?! Slow down, smell the coffee and the roses. This is bass fishing, not base racing. LOL |

Man...now THAT is funny. Unfortunately, I've had a few rides like that, not in a boat, but in the back of a pickup.

I was 19, no car, broke as a joke, and I got stuck across town in -30 degree weather. All because I went to a concert with a hottie. A friend offered to give us a ride, but there was no room up in the cab of the truck. So it was either a 2 hour walk in -30 or a 15 minute ride in -80 windchill. I picked the latter. I'm pretty sure I made the right decision. Huddling together for warmth with a hot chick is never a bad thing.

Maybe they should start a new bass boat company called "Death Wish".

What speeds ya runnig Mike? Never been in a Gambler but heard good things about em. I was raised on Champion, BassCat, Ranger and Viper. All 4 were less than a 10 min drive. Ok Ranger was about 1/2 hour.
Just curious at what the lastest and greatest was. |

in my opinion you won't find a better boat than a bass cat. there are a lot of pumas and cougars that are running low to mid 80s. they also handle rough water very well and are probably one of the most stable fishing platforms there is.
i own a ranger by the way, just so you know i am not trying to sell you on my brand.

I've always wanted a Gambler, but I think I would check out Strokers first and Allisons and Bullets too for "go fast" boats. Maybe you can find somebody that has these locally and go for a test ride?

Now that we know what waters you fish I personally would make recommendations to check out a boat that handles big water safely but in the same sentence will "RUN" and handle the big water. As far as production boats Bass Cat and Gamblers yes. GREAT ride, fast and VERY fishing friendly. Now if you wanna step up to total performance you will pay. Bullets,Strokers, and Allsions. Personally a Bullet would be my first with stroker second then allison. Only reason I put it that way is the ally is in my opinion more of a combination boat and yes its the fastest. I LOVE the layout of the bullet. I aint been in a stroker but I do KNOW they are not second best just havent had the "ride and decide"

My old Gamblers where Gt186 and Victory21. I was approached by Fast Cat to take one of there boats free for one year in order to promote the product. But the fine print was not what the rep was saying.. I backed out.
Here is the boat he was pushing.. It is the fastest bass boat I have been in. http://www.boattrader.com/listing/20...arine-93648464 Capt Mike

gamblers are a wicked fast ride how ever there customer service REEKS...
if your looking to drop the big coin on a top end ranger, triton, or basscat. ya better look at bullet or stroker with the same power. they all run around the same price. not only are the bullet and stroker hand built. the bullet and stroker boats will walk off and leave those cookie cutter boats in there wake.. mind ya you'll be grinnin ear to ear when ya get to your spot... zooker
