Here is a tip for making your Spook Better!
I have noticed that the way they have the hooks on those brackets, doesnt give the hook enough play, and could cause the bass to throw the bait, using the bait itself. So, what I read and did, is unscrew the brackets, take the hooks off, and place Split Rings on the hooks, then place the Split Rings back on the brackets, then screw the bracket down. This way the hooks turns all directions, instead of forward and back and hitting the bracket. This gives you swing in every direction! Hope this helps some
Nick

Is the action affected any by the added weight?

I really don't think a split ring weighs enough to alter a big bait like a spooks action, but you know I wouldn't be sure till I try it. Great idea though. I think the Super Spooks might already have split rings.

Yes, the super spooks have split rings, but the originals dont. I have both, and find myself using the bigger one the most.

Just for the offing......extra split rings can be added to any crank to avoid giving the fighting bass leverage against the weight of the lure......even those lures already having a split ring on the hook can use an extra ring added. Good post. Good Fishing, Mac

I've been doing that for a long time. Doesn't have any effect on the action but as Mac says sure cuts down on the leverage the fish can get.

My biggest gripe with that is the hook on a Spook handcuff each other with the line, Ya throw it way out and sometimes the hooks get the line, and cause it not to work(wont walk the dog side to side) OR, both hooks link together plus the line,,it probably happens to my casts about 1 out of 10
