Default Home from Iraq KY Lake

Hey guys. US Arny Soldier here, just got back from Iraq in October, from my second 1 year tour away from my wife and 3 year old daugter. I was wondering if any of you fellas fish Kentucky or Barkley Lakes. I have only been out on the lake once and wanna go again. If any of you guys fish Kentucky or Barkley Lakes please gimme' a holler. Hopefully I'll hear back from ya'll. Either way it's great to be back home and be a member of such a great forum, Tight lines fellas...Thanks! Spc. Shafer

We fish Ky lake all the time,
I head toward Benton Ky and go to Moors and Big Bear Creek for a starting point, Ya go over the ky dam and its a few miles south of Benton ..
The lake starts getting great fishing about 3rd week in April or so, depends on when the water temp is 50-53 degrees or so, jerkbaits, jig on flooded buck brush, also pea gravel shores off of points, or a rattletrap over brush piles.
Most brush piles are marked on area lake maps..

Welcome home and thanks for your service!!! I'd love to help out, but I live on the other side of the country.

If you ever get stationed to Ft. Lewis, let me know. I don't have a boat but we can fish from the bank or if the season is right, get into some salmon and steelhead. I tagetted salmon for the first time and darn well nearly got converted. Bassin' will always be number 1 though.
