Actually there is a best lure for trout, corn. Can't be beat. Dry flies, nymphs, powerbait, salmon eggs, mepps...none of them are better than corn. Thats why trout are inferior to bass.

Lol, I agree, bass are way better than trout, and harder to catch.

pittfusion, use corn. The same stuff you eat for dinner. Heck, get a can of it at the gas station. It will work.

Power Bait is good for lake fishing, fill a plastic bubble all the way with water..no air! Put on a three way swivel and two treble hooks with power bait. Use 4lb test! Trout are very wary of line.
Also Dare Devils, Mepps spinners are good for lakes.
Dry fly fishing requires Fly rods/reels. A cool "River runs through it" hat.
Dry fly fishing is for people with deep pockets..
Stream fishing as WTL says "wet" flies esp. stone fly nymphs, or float a worm just below some rapids.Trout hang just below rapids to feed in the holes.

I'm just throwing this out there..since there are crawdads in streams where trout are....would using a baby crawdad work for trout fishing as well?

just an idea.

Yes.

They even make flies that imitate crawfish for trout and smallmouth.

I use a white & pink marabou or a peach glowball, this is a good method when sight fishing.

Tom wakes up one morning to finds a gorilla in his tree. He looks in the phone book for a gorilla removal service until he finds one.
"Is it a boy or girl gorilla?" the service guy asks. "Boy," is Tom’s response.
"Oh yeah, I can do it. I'll be right there." An hour later the service guy shows up with a stick, a beautiful dog, a shotgun, and a pair of handcuffs. He then gives Tom some instructions. "Now, I'm going to climb this tree and poke the gorilla with the stick until he falls. When he does, the trained dog will bite the gorilla's testicles off. The gorilla will then cross his hands to protect himself and allow you to put the handcuffs on." Tom asks, "What do I do with the shotgun?" "If I fall out of the tree before the gorilla, shoot the dog." Tom did just that, and his avatar proves this story. Tom shot both front legs and tail off that poor animal. Tom! Polly likes you, but I think you're full of "thittt" LOL.

carpster,if i wasn't full of .......,i wouldn't be here.
MTL,if you recall the name of this forum is "BassFishin.com"..if the name of the forum is "BassFishin.com"then i being reasonably intelligent would suspect that it would mean we discuss bass fishin here.unless i'm mistaken and the name of the forum is "TroutFishin.com"and it's being kept secret.
and i haven't been drinking yet,and i don't see anything in your profile.
do you do this on every forum you join?just jump in and start crap with people....how rude.

It is a bass fishing site and tom is completely right,. Take some time to look at the url of this forum, notice how it says bassfishin, and not "new to fishing" so you could imagine that the new to fishing section of bassfishing site means you should discuss bass fishing topics, with others if you are NEW TO FISHING.
thank you for your time,
Ben
