Seaguar Kanzen braided line
As I mentioned while answering a question in another thread, I went to a couple of one-hour seminars given by local small-time bass pros at the Cabela's here yesterday. One of them was giving away free stuff and I happened to get a 300-yard spool of 60lb test Seaguar Kanzen braided line (green). Have any of you ever used this line before, or do you know anyone who has? I'm just looking for some first-hand feedback on it from guys I trust on this site rather than random feedback on sites that sell it. I read multiple reviews of it at Tackle Warehouse, some good, some not so good--mostly complaining about the color of the line running and getting on their reel, hands, etc. The spool I was given currently goes for $59.99 a pop at the TW site, $52.99 at the Cabela's site. I wouldn't be trying it at either of those prices, but free is a different story.

Dang, at that price the line should be "color fast". Bleeding dye from the braid on hand, reels, whatever, just sucks. Maybe soak it in a bucket of water for a couple days but you really shouldn't have to do that with any line, especially with one of that price. Most braids start loosing color after a little use, and I get color streaks on my fingers when spooling up fresh braid, but bleeding - that one I haven't seen.

I haven't tried this particular braid. I've been happy with my Sufix braids and haven't been tempted to try anything else. I haven't heard much about it either. There are a few braids that people say bleed pretty bad. Luckily, while the color has faded, I haven't experience any color bleeding on the braids I've used.
I'm interested to see how you like it, so let us know once you get a chance to use it. BB
