There might be something to cold weather bassin' after all...
Hmmm...I was skeptical of my chances yesterday, since it was pretty cold, and I got a late start (didn't get to the lake until noon). Water temp was a balmy 59 degrees.
However, I did catch a nice 16" buck bass on a white spinnerbait out on a shallow open water flat (Woody's smallmouth zone ). Bit hard, but didn't fight much. He seemed kind of sleepy...I'm glad I chose to slow roll a double Colorado blade. Trailer hook got him cleanly in the top lip. I can not wait to fish this area after I get a good GPS/chartplotter. There are amazing drop-offs surrounding this flat. I figure a jig or tube bounced down could yield some trophy fish. That's next year's goal.

That's a great looking fish, Bryce. Kudos to the quality of your pic., it shows great color.
I would have to agree, there is something to fishing these changing seasons. To me, it's definitely more peaceful and quiet out on the water this time of year. I find that I am able to slow down allot more, and that the fair weather feeling of constantly being rushed has ended. You're right there is something to fishin' these changing seasons. -Mark |

59 degrees those bass should be feeding!!!! Speed that spinnerbait up and wake it just beneath the surface and it's feeding time!! Same thing with crankbaits.....burn them and you'll be surprised by the catch.

Nice bass! 59 is a dream right now, last week we were at 46. Water temps in the 50s are my favorite, get out the jerkbaits and hope the big ones are feeding.
