Default Couple days on the water..

So far I've been out three times. First was a waste of time since my charger had stopped working properly and the batteries were too low to start the big motor and the trolling batteries couldn't handle the wind. Fortunately I had a new charger. Hooked it up and got a full charge on all three by the next morning.

Sat morning got to fish a "small" feeder creek on the river. Due to the flood tide and high water this creek is flooded well above it's normal level. Caught my first Potomac river bass and first keeper of the year on a chatterbait. Ran to a bunch of spots and caught some fish but no other keepers (15" min.).

Monday got on the water and hit a creek point. Tossed the Hardcore in Black/red craw and whacked 'em. 10 bass in 15 casts but only 2 or 3 were just 15". Nothing over 2lbs. Ran to fish a few more areas and picked up the two best bass of the day in another creek on the same bait. Brought out the Poe 300 in Smitty Shad late in the day and hooked my first fish on it.....8" striper!!! But then hit two bass with one keeping. Finished up in the back of the creek I started in fishing the chatterbait and hit a skinny citation yellow perch that measured 12.5" Nice perch. 25 or so bass for the day, 1 perch, and 1 striper. Good day.

Here's some pics.

Sorry I haven't got back.

Mike - You make them an offer they can't refuse....

Zooker - fishing a ledge 4-12'. Perfect bait for the location!! That's why I keep 3 or 4 of them in the boat.

Had a good couple days on the water during the week. The weekend was a different story. Water temps dropped 14 degrees in two days and we had a completely different tide during the tournament......got skunked!

I'll post the last group tomorrow.

You better not because someone might confuse you with Roland and then all kinds of jokes and comments would be made about Helicopter Lures......

You got to love those Hardcore Drum!!! Best of the year for me so far. The 6.4 came off pilings at a creek mouth. I forget what he caught it on. Senko maybe.
