Default Frogs frogs frogs

Single person charter today was focused on three goals. First was to catch a fly rod LGMouth. Two nice fish to the boat and on to the second goal. Caught some nice LGMouth on a frog to complete the second goal. The third was getting a snakehead.

The storm came in just as expected and it poured down 80% of the projected 30% chance of rain right down our necks. It rained hard for darn near an hour..Tide was way high and still coming in and LGMouth followed the water way back in the woods. Took a while to figure out the pattern but we got back on them. The frogs where so loud and everywhere tonight. We had several jump in the boat with us. It was crazy as they climbed up my leg and sat on my shoulder croaking right in my ear..

Two out of three goals in a trip ain't bad.

I thought md dnr eradicated those found in the mall pond or did some snakeheads escape to the river nearby, they can and do walk over land short distances.
And if you catch one are you returning it to the water?????
The guy that released them from his aquarium should be liable for all costs involved to eliminate the problem, yes am aware that is more than hed ever earn in a lifetime.
Nice pic of the tree frog, many dont realize just how many sub varieties there are,and often miss seeing them sometimes due to their small size.

nothing like a good frog bite day or night..

mule
from my understandin if ya catch a snakehead in the usa you must keep it no release.. 3rdkicker has caught a pile of them. some in the 9-10 pound range on the potomac river...

my guess is it the next 15-20 years we both will be dealing wiith these dam things...

Not a supposedley. On cheatham last year during the winter we met a commecial shovelbill fisherman and he had one that he said went 120 and I believe it. If i can dig up the pic I will. And with snakeheads you wont have to worry about them eating you as much as destabilizing the fisheries for a long time.

Gotta love them frog bites...

There is a creek a few hundred yards behind my house and during a few days of on and off rain, we get some good size tree frogs all over our house... the rest of the time it is toads of various sizes around an hour or so after the sun goes down... I caught one toad the other day that was almost the size of my palm.
I wouldn't mind using them as bait if I knew the bass would hit them, but the only thing going after top water stuff in the ponds and lakes in my area are turtles.
