Don't give up grasshopper....contest officially ends 12/31/2012. Huge fish are not uncommon in cold water.

Got that right! For the last 4 years in a row my biggest fish of the year was caught in December-February. I may break that cycle this year but I'm going to be tossing big swimbaits all the rest of November and all December at our best big bass lake in the state as it should be cranking up with the cold weather. Might not upgrade any but I'm sure there will be some close to that visiting the boat and I'll surely be trying!

My entry
There are two different fish pictured. The one I weighed was 8lb 11oz. I had trouble with my scale and I only could get it to weigh the second bass. The PA record is 11lb 3oz. So 139/179=77.65%. Both of these bass were caught back to back on consecutive casts. The top 2 pics are the first fish caught and the bottom 2 pics are the second fish caught. Unfortunately I couldn't get a pic of the fish on the scale. You can see the size of the fish in relation to the handles of both rods. Tomorrow I'll measure the point of the rod where the fish measured to.

Dang Bob way to go!!!
You have just put a cigarette out in the middle of my forehead. A quick calculation tells me that I will have to catch a bass that weighs no less than 12.9 lbs to reach 80%. But on the upside I won't even have to bother wasting time to photograph and weigh those pesky 9 and 10 pounders. Lure? Circumstances?

Man, those are some pigs, Bob. Talk about a honey hole....
Some quick math tells me that I'd have to get one a little over 14 and a half pounds to beat that. Somebody find me a white flag to wave.....

Pics from camera 8lber
I know the contest rule was the date had to be on the pic. I took 2 pics with my camera and the batteries went dead. The other pic is where I was fishing from-beside the tree laying on the ground.

NEXT UP AND THEN This is first fish layed out like the next two for comparison sake And another from Illinois early in the year More to follow....ya I don't like being in pics, taking pics or posting pics. Why no idea but thats life. Hey I'm not concerned with the big bass contest, it is what it is and rules have to be the same for all. Now that I know what I'm doing........LOOK OUT NEXT YEAR! I actually got a couple larger smallies and larger largies but I carry to much now and the camera, well it isn't part of my life yet so it stays at home3 or in the car....anywhere but where I need it.

OK, here we go!
Due to non payers, the pots are a little smaller than they should be. Smallmouth-$25 Largemouth-$80 I'll PM the winners to discuss payout method.
