I come in from offshore May 13th. And I don't think the 12' "Stump Jump Express" could handle such a body of water. But I do appreciate the invitation. Maybe next year. if the oilfield will keep me in a job, hopefully I will have a boat to make the trip next year.

Default Update from ice storm '09

Power was restored to my home after 10 days. YEAH!!!!!! I got to move home from the in laws house! We were happy to go and they were happy for us to go. Most people have power back. Schools missed nine days and it even shut down an university. There are probably still 10 thousand or more without power in the area. Life is beginning to return to normal around here. It gave me a whole new appreciation for what hurricane areas go through. I have not heard if Big Bear is back up and running yet. Most people have so many limbs in their yard that you don't know where to start with the cleaning up. The lakes around here will have new cover in them with the trees that fell over and limbs that fell into the lake.

The weather was 60 degrees Sunday. I was on call and clearing storm damage. I wanted to be on the lake. I worked 5 hours with 3 other people just to get to the building where my boat is. I planned on at least going into the building, pulling back the cover and checking on it, but I was so damn beat I said it could wait. Maybe this weekend.
