Is anyone familar with...
Dinner of Seven Fishes?
Think it may be an old Christian Tradition. Think it takes place on Christmas Eve. Does anyone celebrate the Seven Fishes Dinner on the Eve? Does anyone get together with other fishing folks and do a 'bring the catch' type get together, anytime? I know alot of hunters do. I know I'm slow and I'm even Christian (Catholic), but this year is the first I heard of this. Why do I have a feeling that Captmike may know about this?

My family has done something similar since I can remember (1950's). Used to be at my grandmothers house, then my mom's and now my sisters. We do cod and shrimp. I can only remember one other fish though. It was pickled herring. Since my folks have passed the pickled herring is out. No meat today. Ham and kolbossi tomorrow though. Miss the ones we used to do at my grandmothers. There used to be around 20 or so now there is my sister and her daughters and me.
