My first big bass in a long time
Last Saturday my Brother and I went to a Friends farm pond. We filled a 5 gallon bucket with 1 - 1/2 and 2 pounders. Then I started burning my Jig N Pig and look what I got.

Sorry I left off the particulars. She was 23" long and weighed 8 lb. Caught her in a small to med sized Mid. IL pond.

From what I gather, it's the same thing as a muddy.

lol all this pinky and muddy talk is going to drive a new member crazy!
muddy is a guy that was on here a while back that said his fish were much bigger than they were/looked. i think someone finally ran him off for being so ignorant.. pinky is short for "pink hoody" which has a meaning here now. someone has "wore the pink hoody" if they exaggerated their fishes size. the whole pink hoody thing came along when a guy with a 19" - 20" fish which he said was "10lbs" surfaced, was wearing a pink hoody. now when someone has exaggerated the fish size he has wore a "pink hoody". when someone exaggerates their catch on here, a guy named "pink_hoody" comes and calls them out on it!

Thanks for the info. I did a little searching last night and got it figured out. OK I guess I have to come clean before I get a muddy pink hoodie ;~) My fish was actually 7lb. 9oz. Sorry I rounded up.
Here's another shot from my brother's camera. She's got quite a gut huh? Last edited by style0; 06-15-10 at 06:05 AM. |

Yea, she was in the pond on a stringer for about 45 mins. Here's what happened: I threw my back out the Thursday before this fishing trip. I hooked into this one and fought her through the moss, grass, weeds, stick-ups and low hanging limbs. By the time I got her to the bank, I was shot and I couldn't bend down to pick her up. I was keeping tension on the line until my brother could get there to help. When he was still about 10 yards away TINK there goes my knot. Time froze, and the bass must have been as tired as I was because she just laid there 3/4 of the way in the water. Just as I was going to fall to my knees and try to get her my brother jumped over me, he landed ankle deep in the water and pulled her out. Seeing as he pulled her out, I decided to give her to him to get mounted. He had a deal with a guy to get it done in exchange for some electrical work he had done 15 years ago. The way things have been going for him lately, he needed it.
