Weekly Fishing Report
Well, the fishing is taking a good turn for the much better. The fish are in the shallows and are bedding as we read this. There are plenty of fish on beds and more to come. The water is holding at 60 degrees in most areas. Wave Tiki sticks fished wacky and weightless , Lake Fork Tackle ring fries fished weightless, Texas Rigged worms and lizards, lipless crank baits, and spinner baits fished over the grass in the shallows will get you bit. The spawn is on and there will be more fish to show up everyday. The mornings have been a little slow till the water warms up a little and then the bite starts good. If you like to sight fish get you some good Polaroid glass with amber lenses as they will see into the water better and hit the pockets and feeder creeks. Look for the sandy spots or as we call them sun spots. There should be some fish in them. Watch the fish and keep the bait in the middle of the bed and wait till the fish makes a move on the bait. The crappie are also in the shallow water. We are catching them on bass lures and they are big ones. A minnow on a cork about one foot down should get you bit. They are catching fish off my dock and this water is about three foot deep.
I still have a few April dates open if you are interested please call. Jim Reaneau 1-888-918-5088 |
