Default November 7, 2012

On the morning of November 7, 2012, an old man sits on a bench on Pennsylvania Avenue, across the street from the White House. After sitting there for half an hour or so, he gets up and shuffles across the street to the young Marine standing guard.
"Young man," he says, "I'd like to talk to President Obama. Could you ask him if he would mind speaking with me?"
The Marine looks at the old man, thinking he may be a little senile. He says respectfully, "I'm sorry, sir. Mr. Obama is no longer president. He lost the election last night."
The old man nods, thanks the Marine, and shuffles on down the street.
The next morning, he's back on the same bench when the Marine comes on duty. After a few minutes, he gets up and makes his way across the street. Again, he looks up at the guard and says, "Young man, would you please tell President Obama that I'd like to speak with him?"
The guard says, "Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Obama is no longer the president."
The old man thanks him again, and goes on his way.
The next morning, the Marine sees the old man on his bench again. Sure enough, he makes his way across the street and walks up to the Marine. But before he can speak, the guard cuts him off. "Sir, like I told you yesterday and the day before, Mr. Obama is no longer the President of the United States. I don't know how to make it any more clear to you, and I really don't need you to be distracting me while I'm on duty."
The old man nods and pats him on the arm. "That's ok, young man. I understand perfectly. I just love hearing those words."
The Marine snaps to attention, ramrod straight, and fires off a crisp salute. "Yes, sir! See you tomorrow, sir!"

I for one love having my tax money dolled out to the masses, the banks, Chrysler, GM, the UN and China. I can't wait to see my premiums increase again next year and since I am one of those dirty DoD contractors I am looking forward to the 30% reduction in dirty contractors that liberal Gates proposed. Yep, I think we need another 4 years of "Change." Maybe at the end of it we will all be sharing our wealth equally as we eat out of the same pot of dog stew huddled under our government issue blankets next to the trash fire. Oh yeah trash fires are bad for the environment so I guess we will all just freeze to death in the coming ice age, or was it global warming. I can't keep up.

No, bitterness will just lead to health problems and relationship issues so I skip it and go straight to anger.

Technically the change would occur January 20th, 2013 at noon.

Good point, Smitty! In that case, the darkest hour will definitely be before NOON.

He's HALF WHITE. Frankly I couldn't care less if he was blue. I just don't want to contribute my hard earned money to those without it (be it the less privileged or the lazy). Now, don't get me wrong. When I was sitting right with the Lord I was contributing a full tithe every pay period based on Gross income not net. (One day I will get back there). I believe in charitable contribution but I believe it is the responsibility of the family (first), church (second) and community (third) to care for those that are in need. Let me demonstrate. The receptionist at my chiropractic's office was fired (largely for what I believe to be racial bias). She is 30 with a 2 year old boy and being fired in this economy was really hard but she didn't complain, she didn't whine. She went out and got a job working at Target for half what she was making. Unemployment would have paid her the full salary from her previous job but she did not want to live off of the system. She also enrolled in the local community college but that meant that she was struggling to find child care. My wife and I volunteered to watch her little boy. Why? Because this woman could have easily sat on the government dime and done nothing but instead she pulled herself up by the boot straps and went to work. Therefore, true to my belief that friends and family have a responsibility to help those in need, we stepped in. I say all that to say, we don't need welfare and social programs to help folks out. I should not be forced to help people. I should be able to allocate my resources as I see fit.
Nuff said, lets fish.

Lord have mercy, the world ain't ready for that. One or both of us would be assassinated in the first two months, if we won.

I don't like him at all but I still dislike Nancy Pelosi more. Ok, well thats not true Murtha is at the top of my list since he declared my Marines guilty before any evidence was presented on the Haditha shootings. I wish we could strip the title "Marine" from him.

A man was shipwrecked in the middle of the Pacific. He washed up on a desert island, along with one sheep and a sheepdog. He survived for several weeks on coconuts, seagull eggs, and fish he could spear. Then one day, he was watching the sunset, along with the sheep and the dog. Now, since he'd been alone for so long, he had needs....so he looks over at the sheep............
After a minute, he reaches over and puts his arm around the sheep. But, the ever-protective sheepdog barks and growls at him, so he goes back to watching the sunset.
Not long afterwards, there's another shipwreck close by. The lone survivor makes it to his island.....guess who....it's Nancy Pelosi.
After several weeks of them surviving together, they're again out watching the sunset, the man, Pelosi, the sheep, and the sheepdog. Of course, this poor man is in even worse shape than he was before. So since they've been living in close proximity for so long, he's upfront about it with Pelosi.
She looks at him, a little surprised, then smiles and bats her eyelashes at him. "Well," she says, "is there anything I might be able to do to help you with that?"
The man says, "Sure there is.......could you take the dog for a walk?"
