I oughta just stop fishing...
...and become Jay's full time photographer. First cast, fluke barely contacts the water, and slam!
A nice 1.9 pounder on his first cast. Later on he pulled up this freaky fish. Poor thing had a kink in its back, but seems to be doing fine for itself. I got three myself that day. All dinks. I went to 3 different lakes today, hooked up with a hog at one, but he threw the hook and killed the fluke on it. Then I pulled in 2 dinks at another lake. Sigh.

John, at least the weather has turned on the bite and we can start to count on catching fish again when we go out.
Once I get a real boat other than the Jon, the three of us will ha e to go out and do some real hog fishin cause all I've been catching are lots of dinks myself. But hey, I'm not gonna complain when our northern counterparts are still indoors...LOL |

Igor fish, says "Yes Masta". Sometimes watching a buddy tie one on is just as fun as catching for yourself. As much as you hit the water though, your time to shine is coming my friend and jay will be on the other end of the camera.

I think my major frustration is how many fish I am losing. I have hooked up witha few really nice bass. Yesterday I hooked into one that I am conservatively calling 5 pounds. I want to say 8, but I have learned to dial that back a bit, but I lost it when it threw the hook, and my fluke. I guess I am just not setting the hook like I should.

Cross their eyes John. Don't be afraid to put a nice bend in your rod. I'd lose a few just to catch a few about right now.

especially if he is using something like a medium spinning rod with a stout hook. its kinda hard to stick one real good with that unless you try to break the rod, lol.

Don't worry about it John, your turn will come. I tell my partner he can catch them all day long and I'll be the best net man around - as long as we have an opportunity to cash a check.

I have two. The casting rod is M/H with a fairly fast tip. The spinning rod is somewhat less stout. Medium, with a slower tip, but still pretty good.
