Cabelas packages have arrived!
Got my new Shimano TC4 Compre in the mail. Haven't opened it yet.
Got the new Strike King Tungsten weights too. Here's what I've noticed. The 3/8 oz are a little bigger than Tru-Tungsten's 3/8 oz flippin weights. I'm curious to see if they actually weigh the same. Also the lower half of the weight has 5 or 6 flat segments (didn't notice this in the picture) which I didn't expect. The TT's are round and smooth. I guess they had to make theirs slightly different so they wouldn't be sued. Still waiting on a couple more items. |

Congrats on the new tackle! Post some pics when you open it up!
Interesting thing about the weights. Until you said something, I hadn't noticed that either.. BB

Haha 3d! I'm usually nervous when I get a Monkey delivery. Gotta walk around it a couple times....get the lay of the land, and work my way up to it!
Feels like Christmas don't it?

Actually they've made three shipments and I still haven't got everything yet. I know the margins and don't understand how they stay in business. Mallen it has been nice to get home every night and have a package waiting to be opened .
Here's the Shimano with one of my Abu Torno's and a custom Smitty Shad trap. I really like the feel of this set up. Rod (6'6" Med) has the right bend and tip for crankbaits and traps. Better than the 7' that I held in the store. Didn't even take the plastic off the cork yet!! I'll have to take a pic and post the winter haul once the rest comes in. It's got a great tip for topwater but I already have a rod for that. Bass will suck that bait down and the rod will load up. No problem. I'll keep it as a back up but the plan is for crankbaits and traps.
Got a friend who throws horney toads over Potomac river grass on Med action rods, 1/0 hooks, and 8lb line. He's got an excellent strike to hook up ratio and rarely ever has one break off or shake off. |
