Default My Best Fishing Trip EVER!

alright guys, just got back from camping and WOW did i have fun... smallie fishing is amazing. they fight like monsters ad jump like Olympic pole vaulters (in fact i lost 3 jumpers). Ok well here is details on the trip- took 3 hours of traveling windy country roads but we got there. We were going to go fishing on a boat at the lake but they were all taken. So, we went on a waterfal trail.

Cool eh? Ricektts Glenn State Park has 22 waterfalls! I would've much rather fishing, but that came next. Alright so we headed to the Susquehana river, my dad and I. A race against time... but we won! there we met up with LD, a guide I met on fishinfanatics.
This is him on the left:

Ok, so we rigged our hooks. I wasn't expecing fis soquick, but on the second cast i hooked one. It jumped and thres the hook. Next cast, voila:

Ok here is a large group of fish pics:

Mission accomplished: Dad is hoked on fishing! he caught 4 smallies

Rock bass- I thought it was a crappie when I caught it, but ok.

Highlights of the day: I caught a trophy fish! trophy as in 15 inches or highger. i measured legnth and girth with my screenname in the pic, but you will see the actual size when i enter it in the tourney.

bang!

again-

on LD's site:
http://www.ldguideservice.com/photo/...ar=2006&Id=233

Now that was great...
here is one of his nice fish:

dad with another:

Me with a small, but still fish:

Now that, is fishing! i caught 9 or 11, cant remember, dad caught 4, LD got 7

And also, at camp- there was a flea market. there just o happened to be a smallie mount the same size as mine! for 20 bucks! i took it, dad wouldn't let me get mine mounted for like 150 bucks. Well, we had a blast. oh and, i got bassthumb!

yeah, had a blast and learned a bunch. I've got fishin' fever now.... tried at lake Jean, for 1/2 an hour pitchin a spinnerbait at a sunken tree. got som nice bites but not any good hooksets. And now, my dad will take me fishing more! Going fishin on Saturday. And in the winter, a charter at Austraillia. If only there were smallies around where i live... I think ill do a search. i know where to cast, what to use and how to play em. shoudn't be too hard.

Cranky,

Way to go!!! Gotta love those Bronzebacks.

Since you live in NJ, you might want to try a guided trip on the Delaware. I have used Blaine Mengel (backwoodsangler.com). He is a great guide and will get you on the fish.

Nice job CB! Got it figured out now! As for the thing about the guide, the reason he knows where the fish are, is that he's spent a bunch of time on the water on one particular lake. The more time YOU put in at your pond, the better you'll get. Once again, congrats....

cranky, you should do kind of a scouting trip...go to the pond and study the cover and observe what will work best in the situation..take a walk around the lake and look for cover...good luck...
