White are good, not used a lot but they work. They are best IMO when sight fishing, easier to see when the Bass grabs them.

JB, I use either the 4 or 5 hook size. I love the toads. My best color is watermelon red. I haven't tried them on the bottom yet or under the surface but I will this year. They are IMO the best of the plastic type frog. There are about 20 or so imitators out there. Sizmic, Case, Yum. They are copied just like the sweet beaver was. Matter of fact I think I'll try the beaver top water this year. Last year i was using the horny toads and ran out when I was on the lake and switched to the Sizmic, they wouldn't touch it. The Yum works a little better. I don't know if you heard of Case Plastics. They have a knock off and it is lighter then the others. They had to change their legs on it because Zoom cried copy. I'll give them another try this year and let you know how they do.

thats exactly the ticket, and you don't really have to skin hook the point when its laying on the back. They are pretty weedless but can sometimes get snagged on a limb or other such "thick" cover.

LIZRADS

You being the lizard conissuer (check spelling) in your opinion who makes the best lizards and why?? I start fishing lizards in the pre and fish em right up to the spawn but usually opt for different baits thereafter such as the BABY BRUSH HOG. YEAH WHAT A BAIT. So tells us...........inquiring minds want to know!

Lots of different ones for different conditions LOL I mainly use Zoom as my regular, because they are readily available. I will also use Powerbait, however they are lighter, so you have a slightly different fall rate, I prefer the Powerbait when c-rigging. I also use the BPS Floating ones when working areas most folks might use frogs(gonna have to try out the Horny Toads, didn't care for the Sizmic). I have used BPS, FLW, 3X, Snapback, Sizmic etc.. etc... etc... I believe they all catch fish, but the legs and tails MUST have a good action, meaning usually a good thin leg/tail, with a little length.(except the floating ones usually not much action) I do not like the stubby legged ones. I will use 4"-8" sizes, and my favortie way to fish them is weightless, especially skipping them under branches. I use Pro's soft bait glue when fishing them through heavy cover also to keep it in place. So the short answer is all brands, with Zoom being #1, Powerbait being #2. Of course I usually don't have a short answer when it comes to Lizards. And by the way, quit putting them up after Spawn, they work great year around, even in winter. Oh yeah my favorite color is solid black, second choice is Greenpumpkin. But I honestly have caught bass on every color imagineable except bubblegum, just can't seem to get myself to buy that color rotfl.

Lizards,
Have you tried the new Mann's Hardnose series? Seems like it might replace the need for the glue.

Lizards

Thanks for theheads up on the lizard choice. Thpought you prolly liked the zoom line as the number one. I as well throw mainly zoom as you can tell from my posts on the brush hog being awesome. Gonna have to start throwing a few moe lizards this year I guess. I have mainly tried to match the hatch so to speak to anty up my bite ratio. Thats why after spawn I lean more towrds craw imitations and worms. But after thinking a little more in depth.....if a bass hits them this way during the spawn be it out of hatred or hungry what would mean they wouldnt still hate this thing after the spawn.

hey laser if you get the chance also check out wave worms new lizards for this season....they make a shad colored one that's awsome....i'm already sold on their tiki sticks...but the lizards are great...i fished one right at dark on fayetteville lake a few weeks ago and caught a nice 3-4 pounder...so the visability factor along with the scent they have is very good....and they don't slide on the rig either....of course i texas rigged it...lol.....when in rome kinda....lol....
