Its fine, lawyers are used to and love good joking. It makes a dour profession more fun. BTW, I won my birthday trial. Client was found not guilty....of loitering.

Its silly that there were 11 adults in a courtroom last Friday, arguing about a guy sitting in his car waiting to meet some friends. To pay everyone involved in the trial probably cost $1000. Glad it was the city eating it, should never have been brought. Damn speed trap with a bunch of overactive barney fifes.

Maybe I didn't get the attorney memo yet that makes it seem ok. I hate how people get railroaded.

I to find it difficult to believe that someone is actually being defended for loitering, actually in court.Be hard pill to swallow for a jp court even,I hate how we say not quilty and they set another court date lol mostly because officer isnt present etc.but another day off work etc.Whatever happened to you have the right to a swift trial or even one without juriors, judges dec. Then again traffic citations are different than jaywalking and or loitering.
Sometimes the police use creative skills when they cannot find what they need or want not being on radar cop gave me ticket for reckless endagerment(long ago),you can play the waiting game as well, change of venue due to work night shift, cop failed to show for day time court. Recent case where a guy was in jail for 30 years, they had withheld his and others statements that placed him 1000 miles away at the time=very creative. I think it is sad 1000s of dollar wasted on a misdemeaner, somewhere the pa should have sense to know when to halt the bs. |

Thanks Keith.,
Yeah I don't take anything with offense anymore nobass, I was just saying I don't like it either. Lilmule, I found the situation hard to believe as well. The prosecutor and the shop owner wanted to make an example out of some kids that didnt even do anything, It was a waste. My first reaction was to the kid, do you really want to go to trial over loitering. He said it was a matter of principal. I said I understand, and did my best., You are quite right that they delay things out as a tool for getting people to plead. I see it too much. Its a big con.
