Default A Question About the Shimano Saros Reels

Can anyone tell me if there have been any significant changes to the Saros reel since it came out in late 2007? I'm asking because there are some good deals on 07 Saros reels (never out of the box with warranty in tact.) But I haven't been able to discover whether the reel has changed since it was introduced.

DrG, I don't think there has been much upgrading done to the saros since it came out.

When it came out, I think it was the cheapest reel in Shimano's line up to feature the special spool lip thing (forgot what it's called). Since then, they've extended it down to the Symetre and Sahara.

Other than the spool thing, I don't know of any major upgrades to any of those three three reels, especially the Saros.
