On my desktop it still had sbcameritech tab , I just clicked it and it said it was not my current default , and if I wanted to make it my default , I said yes and everything is back to normal. I do have a new tab on my desktop that says internet explorer. I dont think I will click that one anytime soon.

I got Vista and I like. I had a problem with conflicts with anti-virus software that has firewall protection too. But I switched to AVG and used window firewall and haven't had a problem.
I still say win 98 was the best of them all though.

I got exporer 8 and haven't had a problem but mine is geared for vista. And I did lose my bookmarks. However I keep firefox and chrome on my computer too just because sometimes I like to see how my webpages are viewed in each browser. That way I can lose any scripts or coding that one of the browsers does funny things with. And I have all my most valuable bookmarks in each one so I can get them from there.

I do agree on Firefox. I was a Netscape Navigator user way back when, and when it all came back around as Mozilla Firefox, I had no doubts. Firefox owns IE in almost every way.

As for Vista, I hear a lot of people complain about it, but I can't relate. My Vista 64 machine purrs like a kitten...a huge, napping sabertooth tiger kitten. Of course, I put all the parts together myself, so there's no cheap proprietary crap in it.

firefox with the no script add on is the safest way to browse the net period. Annoying that you have to allow the script on every page you visit, but well worth the little annoyance when your computer is as secure as a nuns .... well you get the idea.

I think a lot of people that don't like Vista tried running it on systems that weren't equipt to handle it. If you run vista primium on less than dual core 2ghz, 2 gig ram you're gonna have issues.

You ain't kiddin, 1/4. Luckily, I went totally stupid on my rig and put 8GB in it. What a waste of money. I think the Byte Monkey must be a distant cousin.

Yep, that byte monkey is a monster. lol I think I'm going to try and build my next puter. Maybe those quads will have come down in price by then. I had a dream about building one awhile back and when I turned it on, all the lights on the eastern seaboard dimmed. hahahaha.....

I actually have a 3-core 720 Black Edition Phenom. I'm an AMD fan. It is plenty for what I do. I rely on my Crossfired vid cards for my funnage.

If I wanted to go balls out without going to Intel (Never!!! ), I'd get one of the new Black Edition 965's. But for $245, I could buy some more fishing goodies, so my current rig will continue its life.

Yea, I'm thinking about sueing some of these companies on the basis of cruelty. I spend every payday torn between bait monkey, byte monkey, and guitar monkey. The guitar one is the kicker for me, I see all those cool effcts but I'm still only a 1/4 of the way through my baisic blues book. Can't even play a full song without hitting the wrong string or freting the wrong fret. But I can make that bad boy sound like a space ship landing with it's phasers blasting! lmao

Vista blows. I liked XP a lot. AVG is the bomb!
