Default Warm Front

Is there as much as an adverse affect on bass during a warm front as there is during a cold front?

Lately, (since Sunday), temperatures have been straddling 52-55F, possibly breaking 57-58F, and tomorrow is supposed to jump all the way up to 73F! Only sunny day expected for this week and I plan to fish it by golly! I was wondering what to expect during a warm front, as opposed to a cold front though. Is there anything different in terms of the way the bass act from one to another? Will bass move out deeper as in a cold front? Will bass suspend?

Thanks in advance,

-Buzz

a warm front will have the exact opposite affect on bass fishing than a cold front does. they will be more active leading up to and during a warm front.

Warm front usually means stable weather for at least a day or so. Like cold fronts, warms fronts can have its degree in intensity. A slight warm front will help raise the water temp by a degree or two. A more intense warm front could raise the water temp by 4 to 5 degress, these are more productive fronts. If its just a slight warm front in the spring I would definetly look for shallow stained/muddy water on the north or notheast side of the lake. On the other hand warm front can mean bright blue clear skys, not much that can be difficult for spring fishing since it increases the light intensity in the water. It can have its advantages or disadvantages, we as anglers just have to adjust our presentation according to the conditions. But overall they are usually a good thing! Good fishin

Thanks, Fool!

It's about 70F here with a 10 MPH south wind! I'm gonna tear them northern banks up with the spinnerbait! I'll let you know how I do when I get back...
