What you want to hit is Millers' Ferry lake.
Its about 100 or so miles south, down 69. I put in at both shell creek and the state park. Its a very healthy fishery and I think it doesnt get its share of the pressure since its a little more remote. Lots of spots and good lm. Lots and lots of standing timber. It is a riverine reservoir so current plays a role. Hey hey, picture time. Caught this the day after I graduated from UA on a Bang-o-lure near the state park. It was in May. Me and my Dad celebrated by going to Millers Ferry. Man was it muddy. Went in and grabbed the cap and gown for the pic.
