Default Wear sunscreen.

Hey guys, time for that yearly reminder...cancer kills, sunburn hurts, wear sunscreen to avoid both. And loose clothing is good too.

I recenlty bought a long sleeve "redington" 100% polyester fishing shirt. Best money Ive spent in a while. It was 85 degrees here in S. FL yesterday and barely broke a sweat. Lets lots of air through it.

I keep a lotion bag in my tackle bag. Unfortunately, I had to unload some tackle to make room for it but I really don't miss it that much. Really, I don't. Seriously, the responsible thing to do is to keep the lotion with me at all times and that means keep it in my bag. So what if I had to take out some of the stuff in my bag. I won't need those extra lures. No, I really won't need them.

Wearing sunscreen can prevent burning in the short term and skin cancer on down the road. I rarely wore sunscreen as a kid and now have a nice scar from a basal cell carcinoma on my right shoulder where the doc carved it off. Ever smelled your own flesh burn? Not pleasant.

Get yourself some Bullfrog spray gel. Dries instantly, waterproof, and since it is a spray it doesn't get all over your hands. Best of all, it works.

Keep some in your bathroom and put it on in the morning before you go out. Refresh during the day especially on the nose. Like Rebbasser, I've got a nice scar on my back from having suspicious things cut out.

The first warm day here in Iowa I didn't use it (which I always do) and I was hurting the next day! I learned my lesson thats for sure. Do any guys or gals feel like their eyes kinda hurt or burn after along day on the water? I wear perscription sunglasses and they still do. Good fishin

I agree. You need to wear sunscreen. I was burn too many times as a kid and now I don't leave home without sunscreen

My scar from BSC is on my nose. Worst part was the anesthetic injection...first shot, right in the tip of the beak. Felt like somebody was holding a lit cigar on the end of my nose.

50 SPF, nothing less! I put it on before the sun hits the water and wear light colors (preferably white to reflect the colors). I used to wear the columbia lightweight shirts, but actually got burned once because my sweat made the material slightly transparent and caused my back to get burned (not bad but definitely burned).

spoken by a red headed irish guy that has never known anything but varying shades of red skin , i have yet to met a spay that i can say kept me from getting burnt and when i do it'll be gold in my eyes simply for the fact of having fair skin .
