A better morning...
Got out around 5:30 and almost immediately hooked into a very nice bass with a Bandit 100 chartreuse /w blue back. I lost him on a big jump, and didn't get anymore bites on that crank. So then I tried out a new baby bass husky jerk I bought yesterday and after a few casts hooked up with the one below. I thought he was much bigger with the fight he put up, but still decent. No more bites in two hours, so I packed up and went for breakfast. I plan to go back out in the evening. I got rained out yesterday evening, so I am hoping for better weather tonight.
On a side not, I spooled up some Power Pro 15# last night and I could not be more happy with it. This was my first time out with the new caster that I didn't get a backlash. I like it a lot better than the spiderwire 30# I had, and even more than the spiderwire 15# I have been using for a year on my UL spinning rig. I have it on both rigs now, and I think I will probably stick with it. Second bass on my new rig!

Nice fish John, glad ya like the new line.
If your Ugly stick has ceramic guide inserts (as opposed to just wire), you need to watch them carefully with the braid. Braid is known to ruin cheap guides. BB

I know they are not ceramic. Good thing, because I didn't know about the braid issue with that. According to their site they are: ...chrome-plated stainless steel wire frame guides with aluminum oxide inserts. I guess I need to check out my UL rod too. Thanks!

The UL looks to have the same inserts as the Ugly Stick. So, I guess I am good.
