reaching for your catch

Alot of you 'older' anglers may have a use for this idea?

When I used to ice fish before the advent of all the high tech gadgetery today we used these for reaching in to grab a fish out of the hole and not get your gloves wet.

Now for you 'southern old farts', this tool is ideal for getting the fish from the side of the boat without getting up and kneeling over the side of the boat to retrieve your catch. Good for anglers with bad knees too.
And they are inexpensive.

I bought a knockoff bogagrip recently to help me handle the toothy critters, especially in the kayak. It has been very helpful. Wish I would have had it for the 8 lbs steelhead I lost over the summer cause my net was way too small and I was too stupid to know to beach it.

Haha...my parents used to have one of those around all the time before they got hip replacements. It never occurred to me to use them for toothy fish.

The night after I caught my 42" musky with no lip grips, and a way undersized landing net, we went to BPS and grabbed some berkley lip grips. They work great, and the model with the built in scale gives you a good estimate on the weight of the fish. The next day I caught a 34" (or 36, can't remember) musky and the lip grips made landing him so easy.
