Default fall bass

Yes I'm ready for fall,I hate summer...hot temps anyway.I was wondering the the movment of bass as the water cools down.At what water temps do they start to move, like at 70 degrees where are they at 65 degrees where are they 60,55,50 ect.If someone knows some knowledge on this or a great website to shoot me to that would be great...just trying to do some homework. They will progressively move shallower as the water cools down.

Yeah I saw the post, tough luck... yet the bite will pick up here shortly as fall moves in. Since I've moved up to Tallahassee I havent caught a bass over 4lbs... But I have a feeling that as soon as I get a boat, my luck will change.

Senko. Wacky Rigged. Last year that was like the summary of any fishing trip in fall.

Default what about this?

What about a Carolina rig w/ a Fluke on the end...they'll be looking for shad, and this will look like the easiest meal to them. Denny

Denny I used to fish a fluke a fair amount on a c-rig, but it just never produced well for me. A floating crankbait worked beteer, and a lizard or senko type bait was always a good bait on a c-rig for me. That and my secret weapon During the fall the fish will be fairly active trying to fatten up for winter, almost like a bear does. Fish those flukes weightless, and also get your spinnerbait out, with some shallow cranks to go along with them. As JB already stated you'll see the bass busting the fish, so my first choice is always a spinnerbait in those situations.

As the water cools Denny, they will follow the food. If they are foraging on craws they will be in a different depth than if they are feeding on perch or bluegill. I keep a fishing log and have found in the lakes I fish that the different schools follow specific paths along the bottom contours of the lake each and every time they go out to feed. I fish these pathways and let the fish tell me what they want to eat. I have also located and keep to myself several shore bound fish locations where they seldom leave the shallows (even in winter) and feed there all the time on minnows or craws. These fish are usually in reed lines or similar structure that probvide both shade and O2 in the summer and shelter and warmer water in the winter along with a food source all year round.

It has been strange up here, I don't think the bass will be in a fall pattern for a couple more weeks. There have been baitfish EVERWHERE and the only thing that worked was topwater. I tried flukes, even LC Jerkbaits, everything else to imitate them, no go. I did have bass hit poppers right in the middle of the day! Don't be afraid to throw them anytime.

During the summer, actually on Father's day, it was almost 100 degrees, and we were getting hits on buzzbaits at 12:00-3:00 in the afternoon! the bass are really crazy, and now I can't get hits on anything...

Default Bout time

Down here in Atlanta, GA is just now coolin down. Ive been dealing with triple digit weather all month, and having moderate success with shallow cranking lures like the Excalibur Wake Bait and a 1-minus. thank god for fall.

Hey guys, I have a small, 119 acre local-lake, where I DO NOT KNOW FOR SURE IF THERE IS CRAWFISH IN IT. But, there is very, very good amounts of bluegill and perch in it. Would it still be a good choice to use PNJ's and craw imitation baits even though there is no craws(that I know for sure)in it? Will the bass still hit these baits? Need to know because I am going to Cabela's this week and might pick up some Stanley Platinum Jigs and craw trailers.

Thanks for everything else so far....

Think about it, soft plastic worms work magic in the water, and how many times do you honestly think an actually live night crawler ends up in the depths of a lake? Point is even though they arent used to eating a type of bait, they will inhale anything they can. If it turns out to be a no go they spit it out, but they arent just going to watch something imatating a quick meal just go on by, they are going to take it out. Bass will hit whatever you present to them if you present it correctly. any lure will work while bass fishing as long as you fish it where the bass are, and present it how they want it to be presented.
