First bass of 2006
I am so tickled to death I decided to try some pond bass fishing this past weekend and caught 2 nice fish, plus 2 pickeral that I have to share.. Never caught bass this early in season but warm Jan. here in NJ sure helps.
They hit a 3" Brewer's grub fished "do nothing style". Go out if you can you northern folks if the ice is out, they will bite. Tight Lines! |

Congrats, it's always nice catching fish, but especially the first of the year.

Grug, way to "break the ice" with the first fish of the season. I haven't even purchased my PA and NJ fishing licenses yet.

Bassintom, those fish were over off RT 10 in Roxbury/Ledgewood area. 4-5 ponds that way that offer some good bass..
Never tried off brass castle road though.. Now its cold again and ice is forming on Budd Lake, probably be another week before I try to bass fish again.. Hey, there is always trout down the street.. Tight Lines |
