Lake of Egypt (Illinois) 2-11-2006
Fished the CAST (College) division of ABA for my school, Murray State University. It was a good day overall. I finished 2nd (6.38lbs & 3 fish) right behind my partner who was 1st (11.68lbs & 5 fish). We, the college anglers, don't fish for money but for points to get into nationals for a chance at the title and scholarship money. The money anglers though had a 1st place finisher with 15lbs & 5 fish.
Date: 2-11-2006 Air Temperature - Low: 21 High: 37 Mostly cloudy, few flurries later in day Wind: NW 10-20mph Water temperature - North end of lake: 50 South End: 45 Where are the fish? Fish are shallow 2-10 feet around edges of weeds (shallow weed points and edges of weed flats). Fish are also along long straight banks with submerged timber. What are they biting on? Spinnerbaits, shallow running cranks, jigs, and texas rigged creature baits. If you want to know more, just ask! |
