Angry wireless interenet

ok gang. got a question for ya'll. are any of oyu on the verizon "jet[ack" wireless interenet? we jsut signed up for it bout a week ago. it only gives 3g's. and tonight i have had to "sign in" only about 100 times. for real, it is slow as crap now too.

we no longer have a home phone, so we are locked in for 2 years. if any of oyu have this, and are having the same trouble. tell me what i can do to get better service and so forth. this has driven me NUTS tonight.

thanks ahead of time.

We have Verizon Fios no problems but they didn't give me 3 G's. That should pay to get the Cajun good as new.

Having 5G depends on the cellular coverage in your area. Out in the sticks where you are, I'm not sure they'll have 5G. Did Verizon guarantee you'd have 5G there? If so, then you've got something to ***** at them about and probably get out of your contract.

called the guy who sold it last night. he said his was flicking off and on all day and night yesterday too. said they were probably working on the towers.also said it was 4g, not 5g like he told lisa when she bought the package. i think i 'm gonna call on my old high school buddy who is supposed to be a big manager in b'ham. see waht he can do for me. this guy said we WERE going to get 4g....eventuly. before the year is out. i asked what were my options if it didn't get any better since my 3 day trial was done. nothing, so i guess i am stuck till i can get ahold of my buddy from school for now. it IS better this morning though. still 3g thought too.

John, just a guess, but are you sure the 5G wasn't 5 Gigabytes?
If so, that would be your download threshold per month. Go over that, and you get charged extra money.

The only reason I came up with this is because, to my knowledge, Verizon has no 5G service.
They don't list it on the coverage map, and they are still adding 4G cities

oooohhhhhh....ok, i gotcha mike. i wasn't there when all this went down. lisa did it all. i'll have to check on that. thanks a bunch mike. lisa said he told her 5g's. and then he said all the crap about adding cities to 4g's to meon the phone. so now i may have more ammo to get out of this with out having to pay. maybe even get a refund. let's hope....

Default Verizon Sux

I paid the penalty & told them to stick their frickin service. Also supposed to get discount for retired military. Fought with them for 6 months. Never happened. This prompted me to tell them where to go.

Sadly, it may be John's best option.

John, I'm ASSuming you still don't have a smart phone? If you did, it would double as a wi-fi hot spot, although your service may not be any better.

I hate to say it, but with no landline, and crap Verizon service (at least to this point), you may have to look into hughesnet or wild blue.

I had hughesnet for 2 1/2 years, not a big fan, but it was waaaaaaay better than dial-up.
Back then I paid $70 a month for their midrange plan. 1 Gig download speed, but it was shared bandwidth. That means during peak times, like in the evening, your speed slows way down. You also had a download threshhold. You were allowed so many gigabytes (might have even been megabytes) in any 24 hour period. If you went over, you were sent to the corner! For the next 24 hours, you were restricted to like 20 kbps or less.

Crossing the threshold was rare, and for the most part, only happened when I started letting my renters access my router.

Hope you don't have to go that route, but at this point, looks like it's either that or Verizon.

I wonder if theres a way you could set up a signal booster antenna, or maybe even a repeater?
I'm not really in the knowledge on these, but I'm sure someone around here is
