Yet another oops in my first year as a boat owner

Having 4 inches of clearance to the left does no good if the plate sticks out 6 inches. I left a nice little line on the back end of my wife's jeep.
I debated not saying anything, but I have been married too long to be that dumb.
Yep, she's rightfully mad.

That is a pile of suck right there. My 4 year old spilled tea all over my wife's computer yesterday and I debated the same thing of telling her. Somehow the 7 year old is against us all and texted her before I could come up with a game plan. We definitely need to work on our man code around here. Cass if I make it out to Cali one day, we might not need to fish together, we have about the same incident proneness.

my 7 year old was in the car when it happened. I figured it was time to set an example and face the music. I actually did more damage to the boat than the jeep. It didn't help my defense though.

If you make it out here, we will still fish together. Worse case scenario, we can swim to shore.

Man Cass that really sucks. You did the right thing I guess, but I would have blamed it on the kid. I can see it now, "honey I dont' know what happened, I was backing the boat in the driveway and your Jeep started rolling and it hit my boat. Then I get out and see *insert 7 year olds name here*). Then when the kid claims to be innocent you can say "who are you going to believe? Me or the kid who drove your Jeep into my boat"?

HEY MAN...I KNOW HOW IT FEELS. ONE DAY LAST SUMMER (ODD SAYING lAST SUMMER ALREADY,LOL) I WAS HEADING TO THE RIVER WITH LISA AND WE WENT INTO A GAS STATION TO FILL UP. THE REAR OF THE TRAILER CAUGHT THE DOOR ON AN ICE BOX A TTHE STATION. TORE OFF THE DOOR, BROKE LOOSE THE TUBE ON MY TRAILER (GOTTA WELD IT THIS WINTER), IT AIN'T COMPLETLY OFF, JUST HALF WAY. ANYWAY. Don't ya laugh at these highway chases we see every now and again on the TV. Just saw one recently from Florida....and you know how it's gonna end - this one with the driver tazered TWICE! (That's gotta leave a mark).
Might as well pull over as soon as those lights start flashin in the rear view - cause dem boys gots lots of friends and helichoppers and spike strips and the charges just pile up :-)

If it were me, I would do whatever it takes to get rid of that "nice little line" from your wife's Jeep. You'd be amazed of what will "buff out" if you try hard enough. Even if can't entirely remove the scratch, she will at least know that you tried.
