new baitcasting rod!
i got this reel http://fish.shimano.com/catalog/fish...=1159634694526
and this rod http://fish.shimano.com/catalog/fish...=1159634718323 it is so nice. i love baitcasters, i still cast 10 feet in front of me sometimes, but is nice. i have to work on casting. any tips or anything? |

make sure u have all the levers and drag set just right that makes a big difference and dont try to cast it hard youll probably just get a birds nests,and just practice with it . what lb line u have in it?

just lob it until you get the concept of thumbing the spool. also,loosen up the little knob behind the star drag on the right side,and sit down on the cowch and hold the rod almost straight up,and press free spool,then practice stopping the lure just before it hits the ground with your thumb. do this alot and itwill helpyou when you are on the water.
