a horrible day... PB AFTER PB
can only get better right?
well me an my brother headed off to a family friend of ours near lay lake so we could stay the night and head staight to the lake the next morning. its about 11 o clock am, and we decide to go ahead and leave so we can take a few deer hunting stands down. about 25 miles down the highway goin 60mph we feel a bump bump and realize, UH OH, blowout on the boat trailer... http://www.bassfishin.com/bassfishin...1&d=1247290211 well luckily we have a spare and we got it all fixed up so now were 50 more miles down the road and 100 yds away from the driveway when we hear a loud hissing noise, "are you kidding me?", the spare is going flat... so we get it off and realize what the problem is, head to the tire shop and get a new valve stem put on... "ok, time for bps" got in and out with swim jigs new 7'0 bps medium rod and phlueger patriarch reel!!! "ok, ready to get the stands down" we take 1 rod a piece to the pasture where we hunt, bc there is a small pond, takes us 15 minutes to get the business done and we start fishing... few strikes and almost time to go, WHAM on the spro frog... http://www.bassfishin.com/bassfishin...1&d=1247290535 my honest guess this fish wouldve went 7lbs if it was fat like it shouldve been, too bad though... http://www.bassfishin.com/bassfishin...1&d=1247290752 ^ full sized spro we pull up at Lay Lakes public landing at 430... still dark and we need to set our new reels up (we both got the same setup) cast a few times and amazingly they were set up perfect except the drag and we fixed that... 5th cast for me i stop the swim jig and see my line swim off... wow, hook set, HAWG... i realize this is a pig and about 4 cranks later this big mama is layin up on th bank clueless about what just happened http://www.bassfishin.com/bassfishin...1&d=1247291213 http://www.bassfishin.com/bassfishin...1&d=1247291213 http://www.bassfishin.com/bassfishin...1&d=1247291213 anyone fired up? i think so, because coyotes were howlin when she hit the grass i was so excited! my brother ended up catchin this little brute on a spro frog too( my camera doesnt take very good pics this one weighed 2.11) http://www.bassfishin.com/bassfishin...1&d=1247291381 but thankfully we got back home safe and i caught this years new pb's on 2 consecutive days... btw we didnt get the scales on my fish to work right they said it weighed 0.22 lol sorry for makin it so long guys p.s. the patriarch is bad a$$
