Nice Fishing Trip
A buddy and I headed up to Rodman Reservoir this morning with shiners, picked out an inviting spot and anchored. It was nice not having to run the trolling motor. In two and a half hours we put 12 nice bass in the boat. No hawgs. Largest was 3.12. Perfect weather. I won't mention all the mudfish that loved our shiners. Here's a photo . . .

Thanks. I have never used balloons, sometimes I use the large orange egg-shaped float with the weight on one end and other times I will free-line the shiner. My choice depends on the size of the floating mat of water lettuce. With a float the shiner can swim 3 feet back under the mat but a free-line shiner will swim 6 feet back under the mat. Yesterday I used both rigs and both rigs caught bass.

I sure hope the weather holds up through Christmas and New Year. I'll be up there at least once during that two week period. If it's warm enough, I'll probably camp out for a couple of days.
