Default Kent Island MD Report

I know it is not LGMouth but I did take 1st 2nd and 3rd on my boat in the Fly fishing division. Got a 11 wt Scott fly rod for my troubles.

Here is the report.

Wind was brutal to say the least on my CC Gambler Bass Boat. We started at the docks on the south side of the narrows. We tried all the edges of the current on the north side out of the wind. Well,, as much we could for 30+ gusts. Tide was ripping through there and in thirty or so minutes it was time to run again. If the fish where there they sould have hit by then. Next we ran down to South side of Poplar Island on fished the ledge to 16 feet by the green can. Two drifts and all only one hit that was just like a flounder take. Then the wind shifted more North and we where in 3-4 ft seas in no time. Slid up behind the island and ran back to a little creek behind the breakers. Fished the creek around docks and caught a little rock up under a dock. Then found school of 12-16 inch rock in feeder creek. Moved out to the mouth of the creek and caught more. About then I saw a disturbance at the edge of the grass on the north side of the bay. Bait like rain minnows jumping and single liar bird dove on them. We moved up the north edge of the bay and bamm first fish about six inches from the shore edge. 14 or so more fish later we had three over eighteen from every wind blown point to the breaker wall. 3:10 pm now and we had to leave hitting fish. Start motor up for the 5 minute run to weigh in and then it dies. Trolling motor down and running to Jetty on battery. Figured out fuel starvation issue and had Jason pump the bulb every other minute and we made it in with ten minutes to spare. Pattern was the same as LGMouth except these fish had stripes.
