Anyone know anything about kayaks?
We'd like to get a kayak for my wife to use at our cabin, and I have a chance to get the one at this link for free. I'll have my 25th anniversary here at work in a couple of months, and we get to pick a gift from a list as part of the 25 year recognition. The kayak linked to above is on the list.
I'm just looking for any thoughts you might have on if it's a "good" one or not because we really have no idea what makes one "good" or "bad". |

That is your basic 9ft sit inside kayak of standard quality. Most kayak manufacturers have similar models and they usually cost $300-$400. If you want a basic sit inside kayak and can get this one for free, there's no reason to not get it. It would be suitable for flat water day paddling on smaller bodies of water or slow moving creeks.

That would work if you're just interested in a kayak to paddle around the lake. The sit in are not as east to fish from as a sit on top. But it would be a nice way to paddle around, bird watch, etc. I have a Hobie, I do fish from it and they are a lot of fun.
